What is Rebecca's position on abortion, gun control, the death penalty, etc.?Although these are good, fair questions to ask a political candidate, candidates for judge are prohibited from commenting on these types of issues. The Code of Judicial Conduct, Canon 5, Section A(3)(d) states: A candidate for judicial office… shall not make pledges or promises of conduct in office other than the faithful and impartial performance of the duties of the office [or] make statements that commit or appear to commit the candidate with respect to cases, controversies or issues that are likely to come before the court…
We recognize that this is very frustrating for those voters who want to inform themselves about the candidate before casting their vote. Fortunately, Rebecca's track record as a lawyer shows that she is a person who is committed to fairness and justice in the courts. We hope we have shown you this through some of the information that we have provided to you on this website.
